BSD's headquarters office is located in the Walker Building, a 12-story Art Deco landmark built in 1936 that is now home to a variety of consulting companies, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations. Most of our client services, strategy, and production staff are based in this office, from which we serve clients in Washington and around the world.
We're located in the heart of Washington's government and business district, on 15th Street NW between H Street and New York Avenue, half a block from the historic Treasury Building and around the corner from Lafayette Park and the White House. Our building is about a block from Metro's McPherson Square station (Orange and Blue lines), and also an easy walk from Metro Center (Red, Orange, and Blue lines).
The colorful sculptural concrete panel above our building's front door was created by John Joseph Earley (1881-1945), whose studio was in nearby Arlington, Virginia. Earley and his staff were also responsible for the concrete walls and stairs in Washington's Meridian Hill Park (also known as Malcolm X Park), for decorative sculptures and reliefs in the 1931 Reptile Pavilion at Washington's National Zoo, and for five concrete Art Deco homes that still stand in Silver Spring's Polychrome Historic District.

Speed Matters
For the Communications Workers of America (CWA), BSD developed and implemented "Speed Matters", a comprehensive constituency-building media campaign around the issue of telecommunications equity. In a matter of months, BSD's program generated an email list of almost 100,000, and built CWA into a thought leader on this issue, enhancing the organization's credibility with legislators, opinion leaders, and the press. “We had a website, but no real organizing tools. I called Blue State Digital and within days, hundreds of screening parties were being created.”
