Getting Oriented
Welcome!
It's easier than you think to get started with the BSD Online Tools. As part of our site design and setup process, our content development staff and copywriters typically help you develop and organize your initial site content, and our technicians typically pre-load it for you. That means that when we hand over the site to you, your initial pages are all built and the site is ready for launch.
We'll train you on how to use the features that are most important to you, and you'll be off and running, building new pages and deploying fundraising, advocacy, and social networking functionality that serves your organizational goals. Our staff are committed to your success, and you'll be working with people at BSD who love to help you make things happen.
Familiar Web interface
Because the BSD Online Tools are a Web service, everything is at your fingertips in a familiar Web interface. There's no software to install or maintain -- all you need is the same Web browser that you're using right now.
Secure tiered access for administrators
Access to your administrative interface is secure. You can manage tiered privileges for editors and reviewers, to ensure that only those who need access to your Web content can get it.
Tight integration between modules
At the moment, there are almost three dozen modules built into our tools. Our applications all interact as a single suite, so (for instance) signup pages you develop with our forms builder, petitions, and fundraising landing pages all generate names that are available for your email program.
New features on their way
As old features are improved and new features are added, an updated release will be deployed on your BSD tools server automatically. This ensures that you always have access to the most current version of the tools, and can make use of the most current features that our developers have come up with.

Then-Senator Barack Obama retained BSD to manage the online fundraising, constituency-building, issue advocacy, and peer-to-peer online networking aspects of his 2008 Presidential primary campaign. Critically important to President Obama's victory in November 2008 was his campaign's use of the BSD Online Tools Suite. The campaign utilized BSD's tools to mobilize over 3 million individual donors to contribute over $500 million online, to motivate over 2 million social networking participants, and to create and promote more than 200,000 offline events across the country. “We had a website, but no real organizing tools. I called Blue State Digital and within days, hundreds of screening parties were being created.”
