Google and BSD : Keeping The Web #freeandopen

At Blue State Digital, we really care about the future of the Internet and the billions of people that use it to connect, share, create, and advocate around the world. That’s why we’re so honored to be working with Google on their campaign to keep the Internet #freeandopen.

At Blue State Digital, we really care about the future of the Internet and the billions of people that use it to connect, share, create, and advocate around the world. That’s why we’re so honored to be working with Google on their campaign to keep the Internet #freeandopen.

This week, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency of the United Nations, is meeting behind closed doors to consider proposals that would significantly impact the future of the Internet. The ITU counts only governments as members -- and some of those governments will advance proposals that would increase censorship and restrictions on free speech.

Since you and I don’t have a vote at the ITU, we’ve worked with Google to create google.com/takeaction and freeandopenweb.com  -- which shows that millions of Internet users all across the world are taking this opportunity to stand up for their rights.

We’re especially proud to work on this project with the talented team at Google because it gave us an opportunity to defend the Internet itself, the medium that has made possible all the good we’ve been a part of. A shared effort between Google, Enso, Stamen Design, and Blue State Digital, this project is a perfect example of the kind of collaborative creativity that makes the Internet so worth defending.
