Job: Web Project Manager

Blue State Digital (BSD), a strategic consulting and technology firm, is seeking a Web Project Manager to join our team. The Web Project Manager is responsible for coordinating an amazing team of Content Strategists, Designers, and Front-end Developers to produce websites and custom web applications for a diverse client base.

The position will be located in New York, or Washington DC. Strong candidates with significant relevant experience may also be considered in Boston or Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

• Scope, define, estimate, and manage budgets, functional specifications, and timelines for digital projects.
• Work with digital teams to define product specifications and functional requirements.
• Maintain detailed timelines, project plans, and hours budgeted for all project deliverables and key milestones.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects, including communication of client needs to team.
• Lead project status meetings and updates with internal teams and clients.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities in the context of agency and client expectations.
• Assist in managing internal resources, ensuring existing and new business projects are appropriately staffed.
• Minimize exposure to risk on a project by identifying potential scope creep and working with internal teams and client to mitigate this risk.
• Manage and participate in testing and quality control for all deliverables.
• Lead post project assessments and make recommendations for future projects or project optimization
• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and archived appropriately.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• At least two years of professional experience as a web project manager.
• Very strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all of the following: technology workers, business stakeholders, clients.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced (sometimes chaotic environment) while maintaining a sense of perspective.
• A strong work ethic.
• Flexibility, curiosity, enthusiasm, passion.

Desired Qualifications

• Project Management Coursework/Certification.
• Experience with project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
• Aptitude/experience in one of the following areas: front-end development, technical writing, knowledge of content management systems (especially ExpressionEngine).
