Steve Jacobs
Steve joined the NYC email team in 2009. Prior to that, he produced an investigative news segment for NY1 - CNN's NYC affiliate - a job that regularly took him to such far-flung regions as the Bronx and Staten Island. After two and a half years of navigating city and state bureaucracy - not to mention what felt like all of NYC's roads and highways - Steve decided the best way to effect real change was by writing emails for BSD.
After graduating from Harvard with a degree in History and Literature, Steve had his first real introduction to politics thanks to a year-long stay in Paris. He enrolled in a Master's program in film theory at the Sorbonne, but his campus was barricaded by student protesters for the bulk of the year. Instead of learning French film terminology, he learned politically charged slogans and instead of studying the auteurs of the New Wave, he got a crash course in Jacques Chirac, Dominique de Villepin, and Nicholas Sarkozy. He never earned that Master's degree, but learned more from Paris than he ever would have gotten from the Sorbonne.
Steve is originally from New Jersey and he still loves Paris, but New York City will always be his hometown.

In a matter of months, BSD's program generated an email list of almost 100,000, and built CWA into a thought leader on this issue, enhancing the organization's credibility with legislators, opinion leaders, and the press.
