Sundance setting the standard for American cinema

Sundance Film Festival 2010 may be coming to a close on Sunday, but its influence is far from over.

For the past twenty-six years the Sundance Film Festival has brought attention to independent American films - taking low-budget, non-studio movies and providing them an opportunity to receive greater exposure.

Many of the movies that we have come to know and love - and the famous directors who made them - got their start during the eleven-day festival in Park City, Utah. From Kevin Smith and Clerks to Quentin Tarantino and Reservoir Dogs, Sundance has spent over three decades shaping American cinema.

Who will be this year's breakout film out of Sundance?

Watch tonight's live stream of the 2010 Awards Presentation a 9PM EST and find out.

Or enjoy Sundance's partnership with YouTube's Screening Room, where anyone can watch five of the films from the festival in their entirety, right at home.

Blue State Digital has been helping the Sundance Institute grow their online presence outside of its eleven-day run every January for the past two years.

Everyone at BSD would like to congratulate the Sundance Institute for hosting yet another successful festival and raising the bar for American cinema.

The Sundance Institute supports artists year-round.
