Raising a website and awareness for Malawi
Madonna and Michael Berg founded Raising Malawi to bring an end to the extreme poverty and hardship facing Malawi's 2 million orphans and vulnerable children.
The small, sub-Saharan nation of 14 million people is struggling to overcome widespread HIV/AIDS, extreme poverty, and a lack of essential infrastructure. Raising Malawi hopes do more than just change one country--it aims to make a positive impact on vulnerable populations throughout Africa.
That is why BSD is pleased to partner with Raising Malawi on the re-launch of their site RaisingMalawi.org.
The new website invites visitors to learn more about Malawi through compelling mini-documentaries on of the plight of Malawians -- and aims generate support for those in the greatest need. RaisingMalawi.org provides opportunities for those who want to do more - volunteering, raising awareness, and donating towards efforts on the ground that are improving Malawian children's lives.

Raising Malawi was founded in the spirit of ubuntu, an African philosophy that acknowledges the common bond and fate shared by all peoples. Through this connection, we have a responsibility not to turn our backs on those in need, and this is why we must raise Malawi.

To encourage involvement on the site, Madonna has pledged $100,000 to match every donation on the site, dollar for dollar. If we take advantage of this opportunity, then together we can raise $200,000 to ensure Malawians have opportunities to improve their lives.
