A Historic Day: DADT is Repealed

Today, BSD is proud to celebrate President Obama's signing of legislation allowing for the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." We join Democrats and Republicans across the country in saluting the service members and supporters who have helped make this historic measure happen — and especially our friends and partners at Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), a BSD client, which has led the charge for the repeal online and off.

In addition to their advocacy work, SLDN provides legal services to servicemembers who have been discriminated against under the DADT statute.

Our congratulations to SLDN and other organizations who have joined in the 17 year fight to put an end to this policy — and to the gay and lesbian service members and veterans who will soon be able to serve their country proudly and openly.
